Introducing myself - Dagmar

Hello, I'm Dagmar Timmer, also from One Earth and based in Canada. I'm looking forward to meeting all of you, virtually first and then in person in Stockholm.
As Emmanuel writes, this will be a critical meeting to set the tone for the Framework of Programmes. I know that NGOs will contribute strongly, in particular to push for implementation of agreements made already on SCP at an international level -- and emphasizing the urgency of action. Also, our joint experience across countries and sectors will help set priorities for development of the Framework (in the years before it is in place as well as what will be at the negotiating table). At the upcoming meeting, we've been given equal voice as NGOs and that is very heartening indeed, including as a herald for multi-stakeholder engagement in the design and development of the framework (and its implementation).
A bit about me: I've been working for the past 8 years in Switzerland with IUCN and then with a research organization in Kenya. My focus has been on bridging policy, research and action -- most particularly in the domain of tropical rainforests and poverty reduction. I was involved with the Habitat (UN Conference on Human Settlements) process and the recent World Urban Forum, and believe that the way cities take shape within the coming decades (and the resulting resource consumption patterns) is a critical leverage point on the path to sustainability.
I look forward to working on the position paper together in the weeks ahead. Kind regards, Dagmar
