Introduction - Doreen Fedrigo, European Environmental Bureau
Reply Quote
Hi all,

My name is Doreen Fedrigo and I am a Policy Officer at the European Environmental Bureau (EEB), specifically working on natural resources, products and waste. I am responsible for the organisation's contribution to discussion on the European Union's SCP Action Plan, which we think will be produced in 2008 after a Green Paper expected later this year (September, at the moment, but this has been delayed from January to July and now September).

The EEB works on many different environmental policy issues, from the topical level (on specific issues, such as Air Quality, Biodiversity, Chemicals, Noise, Water, as well as my 3 areas), to the 'horizontal' level (Sustainable Development, SCP, Governance, Environmental Liability, etc.), and on a geographical level (Mediterranean, Baltics).

See more information on our website: www.eeb.org

My background is very much in my 3 policy areas, having worked at the national level in the UK for 6 years for an NGO focusing on waste and recycling (Waste Watch). Before that I worked for another UK NGO on broader environmental policy issues, including greening GDP, biotechnology, greening industry, etc.

I'll be attending the Stockholm meeting, which will be my first UN meeting as EEB has not followed the UN SCP agenda until now since there was no formal European Union-level activity until this year.

Doreen
